Things I have not done

Today, I decided to bore you with a list. This is a list of things I have never done, but would like to someday.

1) Ride in a limo
I have never been in any sort of limousine in my life. I know they are just big cars, but ever since I was a young girl, I thought it would be cool to ride in one.

2) Plant a full blown veggie garden
I have had a couple of tomato plants in the past and a few herbs. These were all in pots. I really want a real, honest to goodness garden. I just don't know where to start and I am really afraid of failing.
3) Visited a haunted house
Yes, I know they are fake. I just can't help but feel this is another experience from my childhood that I missed out on.
4) I have never seen the ocean.
Well, I have, in pictures, but that's not really what I mean. I want to put my feet in the ocean. See the beach.
5) Go on vacation
I have never been on a vacation. Sigh. I have taken some weekend trips, but those aren't really vacations to me. We always had another purpose for going.
Yep. I have lived a pretty sheltered life. You have no idea! I didn't have my first Twinkie until I was in the 8th grade. I had my first Slurpee when I was 21 or 22. It wasn't too bad, and you can even get Diet Pepsi ones sometimes!! I didn't have an awful life because I didn't have these experiences. They are just things that I would love to do one day.

Diet time

I was comfortable with my weight. I think when I made this statement, my inhibitions went out the darn window. I started eating like crazy. I have been a bottomless pit. I find myself roaming the house looking for food. I can just keep eating. Grazing would be more appropriate. I think about chocolate ALL the time. A part of me believes that if I don't eat chocolate every single day of my life, I just may die. I bleed chocolate.
I like food in general. I really don't discriminate. I should. Then I wouldn't be as heavy as I am. LOL. My main problem is that my clothes are getting snug and I am getting flabby. Both of these situations make me very unhappy. I find that when I am upset about my weight, I become overly self conscious. I feel like everyone is staring at me. "Ugh. She wore that?" "What a lard a$$!" "She'd be cute if she weren't so fat." No, no one says this to me. I feel like they are thinking it. I walk with my head down. I have become so dependent on having Crash with me. I carry him every where. He is able to "hide" my fat. I feel like people will look at him and not notice me. I carry big purses to substitute that emptyness on the off chance I don't have Crash with me.
I have had a lot of issues with my body image. I have a good idea where this comes from, but writing it may open up a storm with some people. I just don't want to go there. I am really afraid that at this point, people think I am being a snob. I don't look people in the eyes. I look at the floor. I am short with answers. I really am a kind person. I am not as awful as my neighbor thinks I am. :) I know I shouldn't care what people think. The only opinions that matter are mine and my hubby's. I do need to be healthy. I need to make smart choices. I need to learn self control. I need to exercise.
I am considering documenting my progress on my blog. If I put it out there for people to see, I will be more encouraged to succeed. I will have to bust my hiney. Hmmm....what to do?

Random

The kids and I have been hanging out in the family room downstairs in hopes of my hubby getting sleep. I figured it would be a perfect time to blog. One tiny problem. I don't have anything to blog about. Eek. I need to start writing down ideas. I have a million things that pop into my head, but I always forget about them. Ohhhhhhhh well.
Crash thinks it is a very good idea to throw legos as if they are weapons. I'm not going to lie: the kid does have an arm on him. I shouldn't condone this, but Tater needs to take care of his stuff. Picking up a million legos is much worse than playing 52 card pick up. Hehehe.
Here's an equation I don't care for: rain+summer vacation= really bored and cranky children. I want this rain to stop so they can get outside!! Ugh. Four days in to their summer vaca, and they haven't really been able to play.
I scored a really great deal at Schnucks. I bought 9 boxes of cereal for $8.44. Yes, they were name brand. We have enough cereal now to last us until October. LOL. We also have a ton of crackers. I snatched those up at Wally World. I paid $1.00 per box. I figured it would be a nice change from the same boring pretzels.
Samsung broke my heart. Just a month after I get my BlackJackII, they release their new phone: the Jack. Ugh. Oh well. I still love mine. If I were to receive the new one as a gift or something, I wouldn't be upset.
I am trying to eat better. I need to drop a few pounds. It seems that I put on some sympathy weight. D put on a couple of pounds because he quit smoking. I doubled his. I must have REALLY felt sorry for him. LOL. I need to excercise too. Baby steps.
My hubby finally read my blog the other day!! He told me he was snooping. LOL. Not really going to find much. He told me I am silly. I hope he reads it more.
The kids start ball in a couple of weeks. I am sure Tater is going to have a great time. I'm not so sure about Grace. She doesn't like to sweat. She really doesn't like to run. She has as much coordiantion as I do. LOL. I have my fingers crossed. I hope they both enjoy it.
They have a free football camp in July that Tater really wants to attend. I need to reserve him a spot. I'm just terrified of my little guy getting banged up. Ugh. Oh well.
I think that is all for now. Later!!

Walgreen's Deals 05/24

I know this is a couple of days late. Sorry. I'm not going to actually put a full post of deals. I haven't been to Wags in a while. The deals haven't been that great for me. Plus, I'm already stocked up on everything. I have more than enough toothpaste, cereal and shampoo. :)
Please do head over to Deal Seeking Mom for a good sized list of deals. Have a great week and happy shopping!!

Painting again.

Some time ago, I wrote about how we painted our living room. It took forever for us to pick a color. We had settled on a medium gray color. We LOVED it at first. As the weeks went on, we both decided we didn't love it so much, but we were too afraid to tell the other. LOL. I decided to man up and just tell him, afraid for what he would say. I was surprised when he agreed! We decided that we should pick another color and repaint. Yes, it was going to stink, but it's better than not being happy with the color. D picked out a greenish color. Here are the before and afters:

Dovetail Grey

Manatee Grey

I am not in love with it. D is. I like it. I really like it at night. I am just afraid that it looks to minty during the day. D says that I am crazy. He may be right. LOL. We had the opposite problem with the grey. We liked it during the day, but felt it was too dark at night. I told my hubby I think I would like it more if we painted the accent wall the grey color instead of the burgundy. LOL. He told me in a year or two I can repaint it. Sweet!!

A nice relaxing Sunday evening....sort of.

We arrived home from my FIL's house and the kids wanted to play outside. Okey dokey. No problem. It is beautiful. I go out back with Crash to keep an eye on him. The older two are bouncing from front yard to back with a couple of their friends. They were all having a great time.

Lady running like a crazy girl

Crash and his beloved football

Tater rocking out

Crash and Lady waiting to escape the prison known as the backyard.

While we were having a great time, D was slaving away in the kitchen. Boy was that a change of pace. LOL. I also got into a fight with another parent. Hooray. I HATE confrontation. I avoid it at all costs. Let me start with a little background info. Two brother's live down the street, 6 and 9 years old. The older boy is in Grace's class. These boys cause a lot of problems. I won't go into detail, but I told my children I really don't want them up here playing anymore. These boys got into trouble last week because they were picking on Tater's friend. His mom told them she didn't want them up here any more.
On to the good part. The younger boy comes up and asks if the kids can play. Grace says she doesn't want to. He asks me where Tater is. I told him I wasn't sure which yard he was in. He finds Tater and his friend T in back and comes back to the front of the house. He's pouting and has an attitude. He was upset because Tater didn't want to play because T was over. T and the troublemaker cannot play together. I told him thats too bad. He snaps at me and says that T should have to go home. Huh? I tell the boy he is being rude and that is not nice to say. Next, he snaps at my daughter and her friend. I tell him the same thing I just said. He walks over to my fence and climbs on it. He is now leaning on the fence on his stomach. I shout at him to please get down I don't want him to get hurt. I only shouted because I was a good 50 feet from him and I really didn't want him to injure himself.
The boy finally goes home after throwing another fit. We all go back to the backyard. I look over to see the trouble maker and his mommy. Ugh. Seriously? Here's how the convo went:
Mommy: Can I speak with you?
Me: Yep.
Mommy: I am _______. I am _______'s mother. Are you Grace's mom?
I am thinking to myself, "Hello. You already know who I am. We've met before. Dummie."
Me: Yep
Mommy: I just wanted to know what's going on.
Me: I don't know exactly what was said between the boys, but Trouble was upset because T was here playing. Apparently, there was an issue recently and his mother asked that they not play together. I have NOTHING to do with that and don't know the full story. Trouble yelled at me that T should have to go home.
I go through the same talk I just did with Trouble.
Me: I don't know what I'm supposed to do to rectify the situation. I don't think it's fair to send T home.
Mommy: Oh no, I wouldn't expect that.
Me:Ok
Mommy: I just wanted to know why you were yelling at my son.
Hold up the gravy train!! Really?? You could hear me six houses down?? Funny. Trouble couldn't hear me and he was 50 feet away.
Me: I didn't yell at him like you think. I raised my voice to tell him to get off my fence so he wouldn't hurt himself.
Mommy: YOU obviously have an attitude problem.
Me: You are the one who came up here. If you have a problem, the get off my property now.
Mommy: You are immature and rude.
She yells this a couple times.
Me: Ok. bye!

I was glad I kept my cool in front of all the kiddos. I went in the house for a minute to let it fly. LOL. I was heated. D yelled at me because she was STILL in our front yard. I really didn't care. It's MY yard. Trouble was throwing a fit because he didn't want to go home. The kid ended up coming back up to tell my children that his mom called their mom the B cuss word. Grace was livid. "You are not that word or immature," she said. LOL. "I know sweetie. If she feels better about calling me names, then let her. We know it is not nice that's why I didn't call her any names." After that little incident, we finally got to sit down and enjoy the yummy fish we caught that morning. Sweet!!

A trip to papa's

After we picked the kiddos up from my parents, we decided to pester my father-in-law, I mean visit him. :) My FIL is such a sweet guy. He has the biggest heart and boy, does he love his grand kids. The kids all have a great time when we go over. He was getting ready to cut the grass when we arrived. Of course, my hubby needed to get on the lawn mower. It was calling his name. Naturally, the children wanted to go for a ride. Good thing D is a tall man so that he could hold the kiddos and wrap his arms around them. He drove very slowly. He knew I would flip out.

My FIL helped D clean the fish. D isn't very good at filleting. When D is left alone with the fish, we end up with fish nuggets. Now, fish nuggets aren't necessarily bad, but a lot of the meat gets left behind. I love to tease him about this. Hehehehe.
My FIL smoked a bunch of meat that morning. He was kind enough to feed us his yummy food. I LOVE barbecue. Yum! He also gave us some brats and jalapeno sausage from a meat market in Swiss, MO. This stuff is FANTASTIC. So delish. We headed home after we stuffed our faces. It was a great visit at Papa T's.

Fishing with the hubs

My hubby pretty much begged me to go fishing with him. We hadn't been fishing together in 3 years. I didn't realize it had been so long. We will definitely have to go more often this year. And take the kiddos. They have a blast. We got up around 4a.m. but that wasn't early enough. We should have gotten up at 3. D didn't realize the sun rises so early now. We only had about an hour of really good fishing. When the sun came up, the wind started blowing pretty hard. We were in a john boat with a trolling motor. The wind kept blowing us every where. It was funny watching D get frustrated. A couple of times he determined that the wind wasn't blowing us around. He forgot to turn the motor off. Silly boy.

Me cheesin'. I was happy to catch a keeper.

My second keeper. A crappie.

D with his first catch.

This is bait. Hehehehe.

I think this was my very first catch. I was stoked.

Here's my baby fish. He just doesn't measure up.

A shot of the lake.

Another lake shot.

A lily pad.

I learned a couple of things on this fishing trip. While lily pads are very pretty, they are a huge pain in the rump. I caught a lot of lily pads. D calls them stick bass. Hehehehe. I was the stick bass champion. I would love to learn how to take pretty pictures. I would also love property with a lake on it. I love being on the water. It's so relaxing. Trolling motors are wimpy. LOL. We had a great time though. We caught 9 in all. We figured that would be enough to clean up and have for dinner that night. Mmmmmmmmm fish fry!!

May 9th

My hubby and I decided to have a little date night on Saturday since my parents were keeping the kiddos all weekend. He was supposed to plan our night, but he was busy......playing guitar. And fantasy baseball. And looking for things to buy on Craigslist. We decided to grab dinner at restaurant we hadn't tried yet. It's on Main Street in Festus/Crystal City. We ordered fried mushrooms and the Clown Pizza (ham, pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms). The mushrooms were good. Nothing spectacular. It's not too hard to deep fry something. The pizza was sensational. The crust is on the thin side, but it is thicker than Imo's. It was soooooo yummy. It tasted like a homemade pizza. D said sometime he would order us some sandwiches to see how we like those. Sounds good to me!
After dinner, we decided to head over to a bar for a pitcher of beer. Yep. We're fancy. :) We talked for a little while and made fun of other people there. We decided to head out after the pitcher. We grabbed a free movie from the good old Redbox. We watched Taken and both really enjoyed it. Then we headed off to bed. We needed to get a little sleep before our big fishing expedition on Sunday.

Several weekend posts coming soon. I hope.

I had a fantastic weekend. It was just all around great. Not that I have bad weekends. This one was just exceptional. I will start with Friday night first. My good friend/coworker T was celebrating her 30th birthday. We met up at O'Aces in Imperial. O'Aces is a sports bar and grill. It is very similar to Hot Shots. T chose this bar because Griffin and the Gargoyles were playing. I've heard a lot about them, but never been to a performance. I was excited, but at the same time I was bummed because my hubby loves them and he couldn't get off work. These are the times I don't like his hours. :( The band was FANTASTIC! Awesome! And any other adjective you would like to throw in. We had a blast. I even saw a friend whom I hadn't spoken to in years. We grew up together a million years ago. I couldn't believe she knew T! Such a small world.
The Birthday Girl

Most of the P.T. Girls (it's our little joke)

Me cheesin

N and her hubby S. N used to be a P.T. girl

J who also was a P.T. girl and our boss T.
We had so much fun dancing and singing. We shut the place down. I haven't done that in forever. I probably shouldn't have danced as much as I did. My knees were a little sore the next day. Shoot, they are still sore and it's been three days.
Hopefully, D will be able to get off work some time so we can see Griffin together. T said to count her and her hubby in! I can't wait!!

Walmart may not be the devil after all....

......these prices sure are heavenly. :) Yes, I know this is very cheesy, but so are the deals I am about to post. I'm sorry I just can't help myself. Here is a photo of my scores at Walmart. Crash wanted to be in the picture. "Say cheeeeeeeese." LOL. Kids are silly.

I was quite pleased. I am over budget for food, but I will just deduct that from next month. No worries. I could not pass up these deals. I will be going back for great cracker deals too. Most of the coupons are the printable ones I posted about recently. I really appreciate that Walmart timed their rollbacks with the release of these coupons. I purchased things I normally would not have, but they were such great deals. The EZ Mac will make great meals for the kiddos this summer when I have to work. My hubby was begging me for some Crystal Light, so I finally caved. Sigh. D loves the Miracle whip and I am a HUGE fan of mustard. I bought the clothes for gifts. I can't pay 3 bucks for a pair of pants at Goodwill. My closet is stuffed with gifts already!!

A and A get married.

Last Saturday I attended a wedding. My ex husband A (finally) married A. I know. It's really weird that I went to their wedding. First, we were invited. Second, I really do consider them friends. I won't get into a deep conversation here. I will save that for another post. I am just lucky that we all have the relationship we do. Third, Grace and Tater were REALLY excited to be dressed up and didn't want me to miss it. LOL. I didn't get a lot of pictures. Not ones that turned out. My camera is pretty much a hunk of junk....or I am. I prefer to believe the first one though. Here are a few that turned out.

Cutting the cake- By the way, this cake was delish. I usually don't care for wedding cake but this was awesome.

Grace

Tater

A and A entering the reception.

A dancing with her father.

Her dress was so beautiful. There ceremony was so sweet. She wrote vows to the kids. I cried. I am such a sissy. I am so glad that she is a part of our large, unique family. I also got to meet a blogging buddy for mine!!! Alyssa from My Husband's Watching TV. She is so sweet. She was married a few months ago. They are the cutest couple. I LOVE her dress. You can't see it in this pic, but it was cute. I opted not to wear a dress. Grace was very disappointed. I was too self conscious about my varicose vein. Ugh. I know. Petty, but I can't help it.

Alyssa and me

My hubby did not make it to the wedding. Thanks to his poopy hours. He didn't get home until nearly noon, and if anyone needs his sleep it is D. :) I love you honey!!!
All in all, it was a great evening. I got to see family (or used to be family) that I haven't seen in years. The kids had a blast. Most importantly, A and A finally got hitched!! Congrats you guys!! I am so happy for the two of you!

Flying off the shelves like hotcakes.

If you don't know by now, I will tell you. Walmart has Glade Lasting Impressions and Glade Sense & Spray on rollback for $5.00. They are normally nearly $9.00. The best part is there was a $4.00 off coupon for each of these in the recent Sunday paper. You forgot to get the paper?? Never fear. You can go to The Coupon Clippers, The Coupon Master or even Ebay.
What? Pay for coupons?? Yes, if it means saving that much money. Do it. Just do the math. If the coupons are going to cost you $2.00 each, then obviously it's not worth it.
I caught this deal over the weekend. I just happened to have my coupons with me that were getting ready to expire. I was going to leave them for other people to use. I know better than to pay full price. Hehehehe. I snagged a total of 15 combined. No, I didn't deplete their stock. I refuse to do that. I made sure that both stores I hit had ample supply. My house is going to smell great for a loooooong time.

Printable Kraft Coupons

You need to run and get these coupons. Hurry before they are all gone! Go here to get them. The credit goes to Deal Seeking Mom for this great compilation of links. I was able to get some from the first three I think. Remember to click the back button on each site. You should be able to get two sets from each. Of course, things don't always work like that. Good luck and happy couponing!!

Wags trip 05/05

I was very ticked off after this trip to Wags this week. It had nothing to do with the store but with other couponers. I am an honest couponer. There are often coupons on products that you can peel off an item. Some of these are to use now and some are for other products all together. Well, Scotch has a deal going on right now for their tape and paper cutters. The tape is on Megasaver 2/$3. This is for a total of six rolls. Not a bad deal. There are $1.00 off Paper cutters on the backs of the tape packages. When you use these MQs, the cutters are very cheap. I was going to purchase the tape and then return later and purchase the cutters using the MQs. I'm not comfortable with just taking those MQs off there. It seems like stealing to me. This is just my opinion of course. I noticed a group of ladies huddled around the aisle. I didn't think much of it at the time. I went to the aisle after they proceeded on. I grabbed the tape. Low and behold: the coupon was gone! They had taken off the coupons from every single package. Now, I suppose some people may be ok with doing this, but I think this is sort of like stealing. I was VERY frustrated. I commented to Crash very loudly about how rude this was. They were in the aisle next to me so there is a pretty good chance they heard me. JERKS! Enough of my rant. Here is my trip total:

I am not enchanted.

:) I'm sorry. I had to. You are a reporter and you have the opportunity to ask the President of the United States a question and you ask him what has enchanted him?? Puuuuuuuuuuuuhlease. That is a question that a 12 year old may ask and that would be perfectly acceptable. Is that the best you could come up with? I still laugh when I hear him asking it. What a doofus.
I left my windows open last night. Apparently, it got a little chilly. It was 65 degrees in my house when I got up. Oops.
I was looking for some gift ideas for my mom. I was checking out Etsy. You really need to check it out. I found a couple of really cute items that made me chuckle.
Mr. B
Mommy to Bee
So cute. My mom collects bee items. There are so many cute items on Etsy. I can't make up my mind. EEK!

Much Needed Hair Cut

Way back in November I got my hair cut. It was awful. I regretted getting it cut. The woman did a terrible job. I told her exactly what I wanted and that is not what I got. I didn't go any where to get it fixed because it was so short. There really wasn't a lot that could be done to salvage it. I wanted it short, but because my hair is so thick, it needs to be layered a little more so I don't end up with a mushroom head. LOL. I let it grow and grow and grow and grow. Last weekend, I decided it was long enough to be properly fixed. And I was tired of wearing a pony tail every single day.
Armed with my photo and Grace and Crash I headed to the salon. Here is the photo I took with me:
I love the angle to the bangs and the layering. The length is pretty similar to mine currently. I told the stylist about my horrible experience. She told me how much she would have to cut off in the back and where she would part it when she cuts it. I patiently waited for her to finish. I was soooooooo happy with the finished product. She did a fantastic job.

This isn't really a great shot or angle, but is the only pic I have right now. All I have to do is blow dry it and put a little mousse in it. I can also get out the strait iron for a more polished look. If I want a little more flip and bounce, I use the curling iron. Everyone at work said that it looked great. I am once again confident about my hair. I know it sounds silly, but I've always had a great hair cut. I feel I am really lucky to have the color of hair that I do and sooo much of it. I like trying new things. It's hair. It will grow back. If I don't like it, I try something else. Usually, if it doesn't work, I can make it work. The last cut I had was beyond workable. LOL. I swear I'm not vain. I promise.
